JUST IN: Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs Sparks Huge and Brutal Controversy In Lions Evening Training Section After an Unexpected Trade Request Over…

Posted on May 27, 2025 by emma

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs had a standout season on the field in 2024, but his social media posts have raised concerns among fans.

Gibbs took to social media to convey his appreciation for head coach Dan Campbell and offensive lineman Dan Skipper in an AI-generated movie featuring the two shooting off weapons. Some fans were concerned about the ramifications, noting that the league has tightened down on depictions of guns.

Jahmyr Gibbs Sparks Concern

Gibbs did not produce the video in question, but reshared it with his fans, which caused some instant worry. The Detroit Times published a joking message asking what the star running back was thinking when he posted it.

“Jahmyr Gibbs what are you doing,” the newspaper posted on X.

Many fans echoed a similar perspective, noting that Gibbs could leave himself open to sanctions from the NFL for the video.

“Smh somebody needs to tell him to stop before the NFL gets involved,” one fan shared on X.

Gibbs has received attention for other offseason plans, such as his appearance at WrestleMania 41.

Gibbs, 23, is coming off a career season in which he rushed for 1,412 yards and a league-leading 16 touchdowns while also making 52 receptions for 517 yards and four receiving scores. He has made two Pro Bowl appearances, spearheading one of the league’s best running offenses and helped the Lions win two consecutive NFC North crowns.

NFL Cracks Down on Gun Celebrations

While it is unclear whether Gibbs would face penalties for uploading another user’s video, the NFL has tightened restrictions on gun-related celebrations on the field. As CBS Sports reported last year, the league began enforcing an existing rule barring “violent gestures,” which one league executive stated had become a major point of emphasis.

“The rule has been in place for years but has not received much attention. “I hadn’t noticed it much until this year,” the executive remarked. “Now it’s almost an epidemic of them.”

Troy Vincent, the league’s executive vice president of football operations, stated that the league informed players of the upcoming crackdown before issuing fines.

“We’ve talked to both the players and the coaches. We’re not trying to ruin the fun. “But we also have a responsibility as professional athletes,” Vincent stated last year.

Gibbs has also gotten in controversy for his social media usage in the past. As Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports pointed out, he posted a video late last season of teammate Jermar Jefferson standing in front of a whiteboard filled with offensive plays and drop-back protections, as well as codes for some of the team’s special calls.

When a reporter asked Campbell about the video, he said he had not seen it. The Lions coach stated that he would address the situation, and asked the reporter to repeat the name of the player who had shared the video.

“Oh, I didn’t know that,” Campbell said. “I didn’t know that. Yes, I need to look into that. I wasn’t aware of that. Yeah, I’d rather our things not be out there.”
