Arsenal have been praised by Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane after their victory at Fulham. The ex-Manchester United man has labelled the Gunners as ‘brilliant’ and believes they have ‘pride and hunger’. Arteta’s men were boosted by Liverpool’s defeat at Anfield against Ruben Amorim’s Red Devils on Sunday afternoon. And Keane feels Liverpool lack the pride and hunger that has been displayed by the Gunners.
Keane was in the studio for the game on Merseyside and had this to say: “Look at Arsenal last night (against Fulham), for how brilliant they are and how confident they are being top of the league., but when they lose the ball, forget about what they are doing in possession. They have really good players and are good at set pieces, but it’s about what they are doing without the ball.
“They are hunting in packs. Tactics are out of the window. They are just closing the ball down all over the pitch. Arsenal’s success, and they still have a lot to do this season, but there joy is coming from hunting the ball down. They have pride and hunger. Have Liverpool lost that a little bit? I think they have.”
Can Arsenal win the Premier League title?
Arsenal will be confident that this can be their year. They have fallen short in the title race over recent years. The London outfit are finding ways to grind out results at this moment in time and are showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
The Gunners are doing well to juggle their domestic duties with Champions League football right now. They have decent depth in their squad and Arteta can make changes if needed and not decrease the quality he has at his disposal in his starting XI. Liverpool are also out of form and have lost their last four on the spin now in all competitions.
Arsenal were busy on the recruitment front over the summer. They delved into the market to acquire the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi and Noni Madueke, among others, to strengthen their squad. They have the chance to sign some more players in January if needed.
They will be in for a tough test against Atletico Madrid up next and they are always tricky opponents under Diego Simeone. Following their clash against the La Liga giants, the Gunners take on Crystal Palace at home in the league on Sunday.
