In a major coaching upgrade, the Arkansas Razorbacks have named Nick Perry as their new Defensive Backs Coach, officially bringing him aboard on January 16, 2025, under Head Coach Sam Pittman .
Perry arrives with a polished resume: after serving as a Defensive Quality Control assistant for the Seattle Seahawks in 2024—where the team ranked 11th in NFL pass defense (allowing just 211.9 yards per game)—he brings NFL-level expertise to Fayetteville . Prior to that, he coached defensive backs and wide receivers with the Atlanta Falcons and began his coaching career under Nick Saban at Alabama, where he contributed to two National Championship teams .
Before stepping into coaching, Perry played safety at Alabama from 2010–14 and spent time in the Ravens and Eagles organizations . His development under Saban, combined with his NFL experience, makes him a powerful addition to Arkansas’ secondary.

“Perry brings a wealth of experience from both the NFL and college football, making him a valuable addition to Coach Pittman’s staff,” noted Athlon Sports .
Perry replaces Deron Wilson, who left for a defensive coordinator position at Georgia State . As part of head coach Sam Pittman’s revamped 2025 staff—including Offensive Coordinator Bobby Petrino and Co-Defensive Coordinator Marcus Woodson—Perry’s expertise is expected to be crucial in strengthening Arkansas’ pass defense and recruiting defensive back talent
