A wave of excitement and nostalgia swept through the Belmore Sports Ground today as the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs officially announced the return of club legend Terry Lamb. The former premiership-winning captain has been appointed as a special coaching advisor, reigniting his long-standing bond with the blue and white.
Lamb, affectionately known as “Baa,” is one of the most revered figures in Bulldogs history. With 350 first-grade appearances — including 262 for Canterbury — and a central role in the club’s 1988 premiership triumph, his legacy remains unmatched. Known for his toughness, leadership, and deep love for the club, Lamb’s return is being hailed as a morale boost both on and off the field.
Club CEO Aaron Warburton expressed his delight at the announcement, stating, “Terry Lamb is not just a legend of the Bulldogs — he’s part of our DNA. His presence will inspire our players and reinforce the values that built this great club.”
Lamb’s role as special coaching advisor will see him working closely with head coach Cameron Ciraldo and the playing group, offering mentorship, tactical insights, and a deep understanding of the club’s proud culture.
Speaking at the announcement, Lamb shared his enthusiasm: “I’ve always had Bulldogs blood running through my veins. To be back and contribute to the club I love, especially during this rebuilding phase, is something I’m incredibly proud of.”
The Bulldogs are currently undergoing a transformation under Ciraldo’s leadership, with a focus on development and returning to their gritty, competitive roots. The addition of a figure like Lamb is expected to galvanize the squad and energize the fanbase.
With one of their most iconic figures back in the fold, the Bulldogs are sending a clear message — tradition matters, and the fight is far from over.
