P.J. Walker, the quarterback who played for both the Panthers and Browns, is taking a circuitous route to try and get back.
Walker is currently in the Canadian Football League, where the preseason is underway. He’s on board with the Calgary Stampeders.
“It’s not that often we see quarterbacks come to the Canadian Football League with NFL starts on their resume, and he has nine of them,” TSN reporter Dave Naylor said. “… He had played in the UFL very successfully and parlayed that into an NFL opportunity.”
Walker will back up Vernon Adams Jr. with the Stampeders.
The former Temple star went 4-3 with the Panthers as a starter, then split his two starts with the Browns.

Overall in the NFL, Walker completed 54.6 percent of his passes. He threw six touchdowns compared to 16 interceptions.
As Naylor said, it was spring football that got Walker a chance to get into the NFL in the first place.
He’ll be hoping now that it’s Canadian football that can bring him back.
First, he’ll have to find a way to the starting job that is held by the established veteran Adams. A journeyman like Walker will need to catch a break or two.
