Max King, the prop, has allegedly signed a new three-year contract with the Canterbury Bulldogs, extending his stay with the team.
Wide World of Sports has revealed that King and the Bulldogs decided for the 26-year-old to stay at Belmore even though other teams were interested in his services for the upcoming season and beyond. King was originally off-contract at the end of the season.

The Canterbury forward, who has been a member of the Bulldogs since 2022, has participated in all but one of those two seasons and is now a crucial piece of Cameron Ciraldo’s forward puzzle as a rookie coach.
Following time at the Gold Coast Titans and Melbourne Storm, King is currently one of the leaders of the Bulldogs’ forward pack, following the losses of Tevita Pangai Junior, Luke Thompson, and Raymond Faitala-Mariner.
King was one of the top forwards available on the open market for the 2025 season and comes into the 2024 season having played in 97 NRL games with the potential to impact Canterbury’s campaign.
David King, the father of the fourth generation of rugby league players, performed at the highest level. His grandfather Johnny King, who played for the St George Dragons from 1960 to 1971, and great-grandfather Cec King, who played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs from 1945 to 1946, were also elite players.
